APARI is an NPO (Non Profit Organization) which supports those with drug addiction problems. It is said there are 2.2 million people in Japan with drug addiction now. Once this was a minor problem, however as society and computerization has progressed, this problem has increased . APARI was established as an NPO on February 2nd 2000. Drug abuse in Japan has increased rapidly. APARI has responded flexibly to this changing situation. Presently Japan is also said to be 20 years behind western countries in taking measures to deal with drug abuse. The problem of drug abuse & addiction will grow in Japan although much of it is unreported or remains away from the public eye. APARI is focusing on the long term view to deal with this problem. Opinions contrary to APARIs are an important part of improving our service and we want to move forward as an organization that assists all those who suffer from drug addiction. APARI is open to your opinions and critical appraisal.
